Project Description
Weller Pools proudly led the construction of the competition pools at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, adhering to rigorous international standards. Setting these pools apart, they feature 10 lanes instead of the typical 8, offering increased capacity and flexibility for competitive events. The pool's design includes slightly wider lanes and a consistent depth of 10.5 feet throughout, ensuring optimal conditions for athletes. A notable innovation was the heating system, powered by large photovoltaic and solar thermal arrays installed on the roof of the Olympic Natatorium, marking a pioneering use of solar technology in Olympic history. This project exemplifies our commitment to excellence in aquatic construction, integrating advanced technology to support world-class sporting events.
