FSU Morcom Aquatic Center

FSU Morcom Aquatic Center

Project Location

Tallahassee, FL

Project Description

Weller Pools completed the construction of the Florida State University Aquatic Center, a state-of-the-art competition swimming and diving complex on approximately 11.43 acres adjacent to the Seminole Golf Course in Tallahassee. The Morcom Aquatic Center features a 16-lane by 25-yard indoor swimming pool and a diving pool with one-meter and two three-meter diving boards. The 50-meter by 25-yard competition pool, equipped with two movable bulkheads and advanced competition accessories, is the same Myrtha pool used at the FINA 2005 World Championships in Montreal, Canada.

The diving pool is designed for high-performance training. It has two one-meter and two three-meter springboards and platforms at various heights up to 10 meters. An innovative air safety cushion system allows divers to practice complex dives with reduced risk of injury. Additionally, the facility includes a 115 sq. ft. whirlpool spa pool with hydrotherapy jets, enhancing athletes' recovery and wellness options.
